New Coily Products to Try This Summer and Fall!

Over the past several weeks, I’ve tried new products on my Type 4 hair and on Bear’s Type 3 hair. They all are Black-owned brands and specifically catered to curly and coily hair. One product was amazing, one could’ve been better, and one, I don’t think I would recommend to anyone anytime soon.

Let’s Go!

You Need To Get This One Like Yesterday – TPH by Taraji P Henson

What I love about the Hustle & Co cowash is one, it’s super affordable. I think I only paid $9.99 at Target. What a deal, right?

Also, it works very, very well. It cleanses and has a lot of slip; I use it to detangle my hair and Bear’s. It smells lightly fragrant so it’s easy on the nose for those who have sensitive smelling like I do.

Overall, I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Not Bad But Could’ve Been Better – As I Am – Jamaican Black Castor Oil Cowash for Type 3 and Type 4 hair

At first, I hated this product. I honestly thought it didn’t do a darn thing. After using it a couple more times, I grew to like it. I can’t say that I love it, but I don’t hate it.

While it cleanses very well, I noticed my hair was still a bit tangled up. And so was Bear’s; it took forever to detangle his hair using this. The product is very smooth, not too thick, and easy on the nose.

Bottom Line – while I’m not saying nay, I’m reluctant to say yay. I do recommend the original As I Am Coconut Cowash.

Girl, Save Your Money – Camille Rose Cleansing Milk

I love Camille Rose. I truly do. I will forever be indebted to them for the Curl Milk and Curlaide. Whenever I see them in the aisle, I smile. So naturally, I was mad disappointed when the cleansing milk was a waste of my got damn money.

Where do I begin?

First, it’s very hard to get out of the small bottle. I had to open the bottle and practically do the Harlem Shake to get the product out. I will say the product smelled good – it was very nice and light. But in terms of use? No.

It seemed it did nothing to help with the tangles and furthermore, I’m not even entirely sure it cleaned well.

Bottom Line – don’t get this. Not worth it.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a hair review, so this was super fun. If you have any suggestions on what products I should try next, just shoot me a line at blussianmommy@gmail.com.
